International Women’s Day  – 8th March 2025

Voices to hear and the privilege of being heard

A voice is something as simple as opening our mouths to speak. Right?

We all have a voice?

Some do, but many don’t.

I feel acutely aware of this – strained relationships, very real oppression, judgement, betrayal, feeling invisible, being in danger and not feeling safe in your own body are just some of the experiences that people seek out support.

On International Women’s Day (IWD), I can reflect that although I don’t stand on an international stage or actively lobby politicians or those in power, I do, session by session, have the complete privilege in walking alongside my clients. Doing my level best to meet them where they are. Clients who have chosen me, to share their precious and often painful experiences with. Holding spaces for them by quietly observing, deeply listening and carefully holding the delicate material that is entrusted to me.

How do you play your part in celebrating IWD, not just on March 8th, but every day? We are stronger and better together…
