Books instead of potions
Games in place of ointment
Poems instead of pills
Prose in place of prescriptions
and cards in lieu of tonics
A first aid kit for your soul
When visiting the Poetry Pharmacy in London’s Oxford Street I treated myself to a bottle of ‘Hope’. 26 fat pills full of inspiration; of words, wonderings and encouragement.

The first dose and my first response, reminding me of the importance of the role that hope plays in a therapeutic relationship. Without hope, what do we have?
